JOB PURPOSE

Lead the development and implementation of the organization's treasury management strategy, overseeing investment portfolios, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to safeguard the organization's financial stability and optimizing investment opportunities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Strategic Treasury Management
    • Lead the development and implementation of strategy for organisation’s treasury
      management, anticipating mega-trends and complex challenges and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider corporate strategy to ensure the necessary funding, liquidity and cash flow of the organization is safeguarded and available.
    • Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the treasury strategy to ensure long term profitability.
    • Lead the evaluation and review of business options/proposals, feasibility studies, due diligence exercise, financial restructuring, and financial models/projections.

    2. Investment Management

    • Manage a range of investment portfolios through in-depth market and sector analysis while maintaining a wide range of external relationships.
    • Lead the development of analytic models to evaluate FX risk exposures and hedging/funding activities strategies (Forex, swaps, loans, deposits, etc.) to safeguard the organization’s financial stability and interests.

    3. Insights, Reporting and Proposals

    • Lead the development and implementation of investment and market insights, by keeping comprehensive and detailed reporting strategies and templates that are clear and informative for the management and Board’s informed decision.
    • Lead the execution of complex reports, identifying and interpreting complex patterns and trends, and translating those insights into actionable recommendations.

    4. Onboarding & Integration

    • Develop and implement robust financial/investment risk management frameworks and regular risk assessments and stress testing to assess and mitigate relevant financial risks in ensuring the organization's financial resilience and stability.
    • Monitor compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to address any identified gaps and ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory guidelines.

    5. Policies and Procedures Development

    • Lead the development of policies, procedures, and related guidelines for treasury and investment, ensuring integration with the broader corporate policy framework and compliance with national legal and regulatory requirements.

    QUALIFICATION & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

    • Degree or higher in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
    • Recognized accountancy/financial certifications i.e. Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Malaysian Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
    • Certification in Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and/or Certified
      Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) would be an added advantage.
