DevOps Engineer

As the DevOps engineer in Dattel, you will be driving our technology landscape towards maturity. You will engage with different stakeholders, including C-suites, product owner, solution architect, developers, engineers, business users and Dattel’s business partners to design, implement and sustain enterprise and solution architectures utilizing best possible combination of technology tools and services to achieve target business outcomes.

You will enable, drive and implement initiatives focusing on establishing and embedding hybrid cloud architecture & design governance across the organization. You will also help our business partners solve business challenges such as building scalable and cost optimized application, or secure enterprise networks from cyberattacks.

Responsibilities

• Work with solution architect and engineers to design scalable, resilient, secure, reliable and cost-optimized infrastructure, whether on-premises or in the cloud.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Develop, automate and manage interoperability and integration between different products and solutions.
• Work with product owner, engineers, developers and testers to drive the velocity of product development and DevEx enhancement.
• Articulate business objective and desired outcomes to drive the in-depth technology discussion and implementation with cross functional teams.
• Develop, manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate software testing, deployment and delivery processes.
• Design strategies and implement solutions to monitor both on-prem and cloud solution performance, identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and detect anomalies efficiently.
• Implement security best practices across the development and deployment lifecycle to ensure that solutions are secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Create and maintain documentation for solution architectures and processes.
• Contribute to the development of architectural policies, principles, guidelines, strategies, and best practices by collaborating with individual contributors and management.
• Build quick PoCs for exploring new solutions, then evaluate and enhance ROI via smart experiments.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members for continuous learning.
• Keep up to date with market trends and competitive insights. Evaluate technology and tools to enable the maturity of product ecosystem in Dattel.

Qualifications

• At least Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering or any other relevant discipline.
• 5-7 years proven experience in DevOps, infrastructure, data and network design and implementation, or software engineering under complex environments such as advertising and marketing, telco, or financial services industry.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly available and large-scale enterprise applications on cloud (AWS) or hybrid cloud across multiple organizations.
• Hands-on experience in IaC implementation (Terraform).
• Hands-on experience in scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Powershell, Python).
• Hands-on experience in source control (e.g. Github, Gitlab) and pipeline as code (Github Actions).
• Hands-on experience in monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Grafana).
• Hands-on experience in virtualization, containerization and orchestration tools (KVM, Docker, Kubernetes) and configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in provisioning and managing both Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong ability to engage and collaborate with wide range of stakeholders effectively.
• Strong ability in requirements gathering and technical writing.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing and data technologies, emerging computing trends, and development patterns.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices.
• Possess professional architecture or relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.).
• Strong teaming, coaching, presentation, and communications skills.
• Dedicated, resourceful and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly, while being comfortable with ambiguity and risk taking.
• Knowledge in data modelling and management skills, including strong foundation in data lake and lakehouse, data mesh, and data warehousing is highly preferred.
• Knowledge in backup and disaster recovery management is highly preferred.
• Experience in large scale migration projects is preferred.
• Experience in technology consulting or SaaS product company is preferred.
