Job Responsibility

  • Prepare a variety of dishes using different cooking methods
  • Develop and execute recipes to ensure consistent quality and taste.
  • Adjust menus to cater to special dietary requirements (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, allergen-conscious meals).
  • Design, create, and update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
  • Ensure menus offer variety and balance, taking into consideration customer preferences and food costs.
  • Order ingredients and supplies based on projected demand and budget constraints.
  • Monitor stock levels and manage waste by minimizing food spoilage.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure proper food storage.
  • Assign tasks, manage workflow, and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
  • Ensure all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure food presentation is attractive and meets the restaurantâs standards.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and food preparation techniques.
  • Respond to customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to recipes or service.
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and organized at all times.
  • Implement health and safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
  • Oversee proper use of kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum education is SPM
  • Language requirement: English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Proven experience working as a chef or in a similar role.
  • Experience in managing kitchen staff and operations.
  • Proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques
  • Strong understanding of kitchen health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to develop creative recipes and adapt to new culinary trends.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and sometimes with customers.
  • Attention to detail, particularly with presentation and quality of dishes.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the kitchen's hours of operation.
  • Able to work at Melaka
