Responsibilities:
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/MFRS).
• Liaise with external parties, e.g., auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax, and government authorities.
• Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial reports and disclosures.
• Prepare the entity's financial statements for Biomedia group consolidation.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with various departments to collect necessary financial or non-financial information.
• Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and recording of financial transactions.
• Implement and monitor effective internal controls related to general ledger activities.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations to ensure accurate consolidation of financial results.
• Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to intercompany accounts.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and provide insights to senior management.
• Participate in budget exercises, monitor budget performance, and perform variance analysis.
• Prepare for direct and indirect tax matters (e.g., SST, Withholding Taxes, and Corporate Income Tax Return).
• Assist in e-invoicing implementation and processing.
• Assist in Transfer pricing exercise.
• Identify opportunities for ERP and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Analyze trends and variances in financial performance.
• Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Financial Manager.
Pre-requisites:
- Degree in Accounting or professional certificate such as ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent
- Proven experience with financial reporting, analysis, and general ledger management.
- Minimal 3-5 years of experience in accounting and reporting role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Knowledge in Navision ERP Accounting System will be advantageous.
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Proficient in MS Office suite especially MS Excel (Pivot, V-Lookup) and PowerPoint
- Good communication and Interpersonal skills
- Well organized, meticulous, analytical and able to work independently.
- A team player who is able to deliver under tight deadlines.
