Job Summary for Mixing Specialist (Textile)
The Mixing Specialist in the Coating Department is responsible for preparing and mixing chemicals, resins, and other coating materials used in the production of technical textiles. This role ensures that all materials are accurately measured, mixed, and prepared according to specific formulations and quality standards. The Mixing Specialist will work closely with the Coating team to support smooth and efficient coating processes, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining high-quality standards in the finished products.
Key Responsibilities :
1.Material Preparation and Mixing
*Accurately measure, mix, and prepare chemicals, coatings, and additives according to technical formulations specific to textile coating processes.
*Operate and monitor mixing equipment to ensure consistent material quality and proper chemical reactions during the mixing process.
*Adjust machine settings such as speed, temperature, and time to optimize the mixing process for specific coating applications.
2.Coating Process Support
*Supply prepared coatings to the production team on time, ensuring minimal delays in the coating line.
*Communicate with the coating machine operators and production team to coordinate material flow and ensure continuous operation.
3.Batch Documentation and Record-Keeping
*Maintain accurate and detailed records of all batches, including ingredient quantities, batch numbers, and mixing parameters.
*Ensure that batch documentation complies with internal quality control procedures and external regulatory requirements.
4.Quality Control
*Conduct routine tests and inspections on mixed batches to ensure the coating materials meet quality standards for viscosity, adhesion, and consistency.
*Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify any issues in the mixed materials and take corrective actions as necessary.
5.Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
*Perform routine maintenance on mixing equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
*Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with the mixing process or equipment to prevent production delays and maintain quality standards.
6.Safety and Compliance
*Follow all safety protocols when handling hazardous chemicals and materials, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
*Ensure that mixing operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
*Properly store, label, and dispose of chemicals and coating materials as per company policy and regulatory requirements.
7.Inventory and Material Management
*Monitor inventory levels of coating materials, chemicals, and additives, and notify the Coating Manager when supplies need to be replenished.
*Ensure that all raw materials are stored correctly and used before their expiration date to reduce waste.
8.Continuous Improvement
*Assist in optimizing mixing procedures to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
*Provide feedback to management on potential process improvements to enhance quality and productivity.
