Senior Product Manager (API)

We are hiring for our client that runs a fintech infrastructure services.

Our mission is to provide secure, efficient, and innovative payment solutions for our participants, businesses, and consumers in Malaysia. As we grow and improve our offerings, we are looking for a talented, driven, and customer-focused Product Manager to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Direction: Lead the product's strategic direction, from identifying market opportunities to creating innovative solutions and driving revenue growth. Oversee the entire product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and effectively addressing market needs.
• Market Penetration: Maximize market penetration across consumer and business segments by enabling participant and consumer services. Strategically create new payment experiences and channels, leveraging existing unified product platforms to bridge market gaps. Collaborate with commercial teams and providers to drive revenue growth by exploring new channels and tapping into previously underserved segments.
• Product Management: Own the product roadmap, prioritization, and backlog management. Define propositions, craft UX frameworks, and establish product requirements, ensuring alignment with market demands and user needs to achieve product excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead co-creation activities with stakeholders, including the Commercial, Operations, and Technology divisions, to define enhanced product propositions.
• Resource Allocation: Request resource allocation through the Planning and Demand Management team in the Technology Division.
• Development Collaboration: Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritize development tasks in collaboration with application development teams or vendors.
• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze product performance, user feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and inform future product iterations.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or in a similar role within the financial services, fintech, or payment industry, ideally with operational exposure to payment products.
• In-depth knowledge of payment systems, technologies, and industry standards.
• Strong research and analytical capabilities, with the ability to collect and interpret market insights and customer needs.
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder engagement, with the skill to influence and build relationships at various levels.
• Understanding of risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to payment networks.
• Experience in creating project proposals, business cases, and conducting financial analysis to secure funding.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working with technology teams to define product specifications and user stories.
• Excellent communication skills, able to clearly and concisely convey complex concepts and ideas.
• Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• A passion for innovation and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  
  

Preferred Skills:

• A strong enthusiasm for operations with a clear understanding of its critical role in day-to-day business activities.
• Proficient in reading and optimizing API documentation to allow developers to self-serve and clearly understand requirements through a developer portal.
• Skilled in data analytics and leveraging customer insights to drive product improvements.
• Deep knowledge of local payment regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experienced in conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Proven experience working with external vendors for product and software development.
• Understanding of generative AI technologies for enabling self-serve models, particularly in system integration and software development.
