About the Role

This position is principally responsible for the Fraud & Investigation including systematically identify, measure, monitor and control of fraud risks to mitigate any possible of fraud events. The systematic approach of managing fraud risks will enable the bank to continue its operations and activities effectively without exposing the bank to unacceptable levels of risk.

What will you do:

  • Maintaining and reviewing Fraud Management Policy and the relevant guidelines.
  • Periodical assessment on regulatory compliance in relation to fraud management.
  • Independent review of Working Instructions prepared by Business Unit (BU)/Support Unit (SU) to ensure fraud control measures are in place especially on vulnerable area.
  • Facilitates the bank fraud awareness program including conducting training to staff and customer.
  • Conduct independent inquiries, interviews and investigation on fraudulent incidents and root cause analysis and recommend remediation actions and control measures for external fraud (for actual, attempted and suspected fraud).
  • Preparing and presenting independent fraud investigation reports to the management, the Board and other authorities.
  • Escalate relevant reports which related to fraud investigation to the working committee and management periodically.
  • Maintain internal fraud database and review of fraud incidents prior to submission to BNM, ORION, PayNets and other authorities.
  • Periodical reporting of Fraud incidents (Internal & External) including fraud trend analysis to management and Board.
  • Independent review on control measure for fraud management, prevention and detection.
  • Independent review and assess the effectiveness of ARBM fraud awareness measures.
  • Provide recommendation and advisory on fraud preventive measures.
  • Coordinate and conduct end-to-end Fraud Risk Assessment at portfolio, products, process and channels on independent basis.
  • Designing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and collation of internal and external frauds and suspected frauds and performing trend analysis review.
  • Oversight the implementation and effectiveness of fraud analysis and preventive measures.
  • Maintain a detail negative database whenever received adverse information from counterparties or internally.
  • Establish and design appropriate reporting requirements, methods and templates for periodical submission of inputs, details and statistical information to support on cards, applications, banking facilities and channels by BU/SU for justified fraud parameter setting, thresholds, system development and enhancement and the relevant analysis as required.
  • Independent review the comprehensiveness of fraud detection methods establish by BU/SU.
  • Ad hoc assignment as required by the Head of Operational Risk.
  • Represent bank to attend task force meeting when appropriate and necessary.

Skills, certifications and experience you possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Banking or any related discipline.
  • Possess a minimum 10 years of experience in audit/Fraud Management.
  • Possess good knowledge of Islamic bank products, process control and regulatory guidelines.
  • Independent, resourceful and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
