Job Description
1. Equipment and facilities Maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain various kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Conduct routine calibration of equipment to ensure precision and optimal performance.
- Implement a proactive maintenance schedule to prevent equipment breakdowns and extend their lifespan.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source quality spare parts and components for repairs.
- Assist HOD in establishing and maintaining relationships with equipment suppliers, service providers, and contractors.
- Negotiate service contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and optimal service levels.
- Update and maintain an inventory of spare parts to facilitate efficient repairs.
- Train and guide kitchen crew staff on proper equipment handling and maintenance procedures.
- Assist HOD on research and recommend technological upgrades to enhance equipment efficiency and production capacity.
2. Mechanical Systems:
- Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, ensuring proper temperature and ventilation in the central kitchen.
- Conduct regular checks on pumps, motors, and conveyors, repairing or replacing components as needed.
- Implement preventive maintenance measures for mechanical systems to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with external contractors for specialized maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Optimize plumbing systems to ensure efficient water supply and drainage.
3. Record Keeping:
- Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, including dates, procedures, and outcomes.
- Develop a database to track equipment warranties, maintenance schedules, and service contracts.
- Prepare reports for management on the overall health of the central kitchen equipment.
4. Collaboration
- Coordinate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production.
- Work closely with the procurement team to source and evaluate maintenance-related products and services.
- Participate in project teams for new equipment installations, providing technical expertise.
- Conduct regular feedback sessions with production teams to gather insights for continuous improvement.
5. Emergency Response:
- Establish and communicate emergency response protocols for immediate action during equipment breakdowns.
- Develop contingency plans for critical equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain on-call availability for urgent maintenance requirements.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Assist HOD in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to integrate innovative technologies for improved equipment performance.
7. Regulatory Compliance/Utilities departmental liaison:
- Assist HOD to ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies/utility departments such as water and electricity supplies during inspections and troubleshooting works.
Job Requirements:
- Qualification: Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Engineering)
- Experience – Min 2 years.
- Able to work in Taman Pelangi Indah, Ulu Tiram Johor.
