Protection Engineer/Commissioning Engineer (Entry to Principal Level)

Key role requirements are:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Protection and commissioning focus)
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience
  • Confidence to independently tackle complex engineering problems.
  • Broad HV/MV protection experience.

Desirable, but not essential, role requirements are:

  • Experience with protection co-ordination studies and configuration of major relay brands, SEL, Siemens, Micom, etc
  • Familiarity with IEC61850 GOOSE and MMS highly advantageous
  • Experience with commissioning SAT/FAT activities including Secondary injection testing with Omicron equipment
  • Experience in secondary and primary HV designs, including protection and automation.
  • Experience in using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP and SKM PTW in undertaking steady-state, dynamic (RMS) and electromagnetic (EMT) power system studies;
  • Experience in model validation testing or commissioning works.
  • Experience in project or team management skills, relevant to electrical networks.
