Responsibilities:
- To assist, advise and provide support in respect of legal and compliance matters applicable to business conduct of the Group Company.
- Assess and advise on legal risks in contractual documentation and escalating where necessary.
- Draft and review commercial agreements, contracts or related legal documentations and act in the best interest of the Group Company (e.g. distribution agreement, trading terms, tenancy agreements, non-disclosure agreement).
- Liaise with external legal counsel where necessary.
- Monitor and maintain all legal file records, contracts, company legal documents, property titles, etc and filling where necessary.
- Review internal processes and improve workflow to mitigate risks to the Group Company.
- Assist with possible mergers, acquisitions, and formation of business entities within SEA jurisdiction and other markets for business expansion.
- To assist on cross jurisdictional and complex matters, which will provide the opportunity for exposure to complex matters and skills growth.
- Based in Malaysia, reporting to a senior legal counsel.
- Actively liaising with a wide legal team across SEA & ANZ which provides the applicant with strong resources to learn and develop.
- Assist in other duties and special projects as and when deemed fit.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- Qualified member of the Malaysian Bar, of at least 3 years’ PQE.
- Pay scale adjustment in accordance with PQE.
- Working experience in distributor company supplying medical device to healthcare industry is highly preferred.
- Possess strong understanding of legal aspects of corporate and commercial matters.
- Possess strong corporate commercial drafting and negotiation skills.
- Able to concisely explain legal situation to various business units and manage international stakeholders.
- Able to work under a challenging, dynamic working environment and deliver quality result within tight timelines.
- Strong presentation, excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Analytical, meticulous and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Exceptional administrative and legal research skills.
- Self-motivated, passionate, team player and enjoy interacting with people.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Candidate with strong business acumen will be added advantage.
- Fully vaccinated for covid-19.
