Job Summary:
The Security Assistant is responsible for supporting the Security Executive in maintaining a safe and secure environment by assisting with day-to-day security operations and ensuring compliance with company policies and security industry regulations. This role involves monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling premises, and coordinating emergency responses when necessary. The Security Assistant will also provide administrative support, assist with security personnel management, and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the security team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and report any suspicious activity or behavior.
  • Patrol the premises regularly to maintain a visible security presence and identify potential security risks.
  • Support the Security Executive in implementing security policies, strategies, and procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling and overseeing security personnel, ensuring proper allocation of duties and monitoring performance.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
  • Maintain an activity log and prepare incident reports when required.
  • Assist in conducting routine inspections of security equipment and facilitate necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide administrative support, including maintaining security documentation and assisting with budget tracking.
  • Assist in evaluating the capabilities of security contractors and ensuring adherence to security plans.
  • Aid in gathering security intelligence and implementing preventive measures.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new security staff members.
  • Conduct access control, ensure the security of all personnel and visitors, and manage visitor registrations.
  • Communicate with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, security standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Support the Security Executive in preparing and maintaining security schedules and shift rosters.
  • Participate in 5S and Kaizen activities to support continuous improvement of security processes.
  • Provide first-level support in handling minor technical issues related to security equipment.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all personnel, premises, and assets by following established protocols.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Security Executive or management.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a security-related role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong observational and surveillance skills.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of security procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to respond promptly to emergencies and coordinate effectively with emergency services.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Trained in First Aid and self-defense is an added advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual in English and Bahasa Melayu.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular office hours and respond to security alerts when needed.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and the ability to maintain professionalism in all situations.
