With its ambitious plans of doubling their regional Life Sciences business in the next 5 years, we are partnering our client who is an up-and-coming Chemical Distributor who are embarking on an exciting phase of growth, in hiring for a Malaysia-based Head of Life Sciences role that could come with regional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO of the company, the Head of Life Sciences will be responsible to develop Life Sciences market segment to achieve sales targets and objectives locally in Malaysia as well as to develop the Asia markets. The sub segments will include Food & Nutrition, Home & Personal Care, Pharmaceutical and Animal Feed. This role will be leading the Life Sciences team and will require strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset and yet hands-on approach, and the ability to drive results through effective sales strategies.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Food Science or a related field with at least 15-20 years of sales/commercial experience in the Food & Nutrition and/or Home & Personal Care segments, given that these are the key markets for the company. Prior experience working in the chemical distribution industry would be a great advantage, although candidates with a mix of commercial experience working for a principal (supplier) will be a great blend of exposure too. To be successful in this role, you are proactive, inquisitive, entrepreneurial, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
