Senior Buyer / Buyer (Custom Cable & Wire Harness Background)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Issue Purchase Order when system triggers to buy parts to ensure no parts shortage when needed;
• Ensure the date Supplier commit meets the system request date;
• Follow up shipment to ensure parts receive on time and no delay;
• Participate in any special projects/programs as & when assigned by Company.
• Close interfacing with manufacturing receiving person to keep updated on shortages and other vendor related problems.
• Assist in the purchasing of products for quick turn orders.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure customer delivery commitments.
• Purchase & negotiate for the best price of materials, equipment and supplies from vendors.
• Monitor & minimize excess, past dues and material shortages.
• Participation in cost reduction incentives may be assigned to specific cost reduction projects.
• Analyze and utilize customer’s forecast for blanket purchase orders.
• Manage assigned suppliers through continuous improvements to achieve the Company expectations of OTD, quality, customer services and cost.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· At least 2-3 years of prior document control, drafting or other related work experience.

· Must be familiar with automated document control systems, ERP/MRP, PC utilization.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

· Able to communicate well working in a multi-cultural environment where English is a second language.

· Extended use of a computer and keyboard for data input.

· Basic math skills for interpreting drawings and calculations to support the manufacturing process.

Proficiency in MS Office.
