Job Description:

  • Take diet order using the tab and to ensure correct patient name and bed number is key in.
  • Take diet order as per patient diet type/restriction provided by nursing staff.
  • Prepare reports for kitchen personnel in preparation of meals.
  • To print out order chit for plating process.
  • To be involved in plating process when needed.
  • Distribute patient’s meals in the shortest time possible when the meals are delivered to the wards.
  • Ensure all patients received their diet as per order.
  • Ensure enough extra meal are provided for late admission.
  • Liaise with nursing staff on special meals ordered by doctor such as nourishing fluids, clear fluids, therapeutic diet and etc.
  • Cancel patient’s diet on discharge. Inform kitchen whenever there are meals to be transfer out to other Units/wards
  • Collect back patient’s food trays after every meal.
  • To check patient food temperature when it reaches the ward and keeps a recording.
  • To adhere to the food sanitation and safety guideline.
  • To take order from all patients in the wards for the following day.
  • Ensure patient’s meal order is as per requested before serving to patient.
  • Be involved in QI study when required.
  • To inform nursing staff or BO for additional or add-on meals from patient.
  • To report for duty on time as per duty roster prepared.
  • To ensure proper attire is put on.
  • To maintain high standard of personal hygiene and appearance at all times.
  • To safe keep and maintain the tablet used for meal ordering.
  • To provide services in friendly and courteous manner to all patients.

Job Requirements:

  • SPM or Diploma in Food Service or in related field
  • At least 1-2 years experience in Food & Beverage Field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
