Job Purpose:
The Corporate Communication Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of the organization. This role ensures consistent messaging and brand positioning across all communication channels and serves as the primary point of contact for media and public relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication Strategy Development:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communication strategies to promote the organization's mission, values, and objectives.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across all platforms, including internal and external communications.
  • Media Relations:
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive media coverage.
  • Handle media inquiries, press releases, interviews, and other forms of media engagement.
  • Brand Management:
  • Oversee brand identity and ensure consistent application across all communication materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align corporate branding with promotional campaigns and digital marketing.
  • Crisis Communication:
  • Act as the lead in developing crisis communication plans and managing communication during crises.
  • Serve as the spokesperson during crises and ensure transparent and timely communication.
  • Internal Communications:
  • Develop internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Create internal newsletters, announcements, and updates that align with organizational goals.
  • Social Media Management:
  • Oversee the content strategy for social media channels to promote the institution’s initiatives, news, and events.
  • Engage with audiences through social media to maintain a positive online presence.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including alumni, partners, and sponsors.
  • Organize and coordinate communication for events, conferences, and public engagements.
  • Content Development:
  • Produce high-quality content for press releases, speeches, newsletters, and website updates.
  • Ensure all communication materials adhere to the organization’s tone, style, and brand guidelines.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the events team to plan and execute corporate events, conferences, and media briefings.
  • Ensure all events support the organization’s communication objectives.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track media coverage, social media metrics, and other communication outcomes to assess effectiveness.
  • Provide regular reports on communication strategies and their impact on brand visibility and reputation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Proven track record in managing media relations, brand positioning, and crisis communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital communication trends, and public relations practices.
  • Experience in managing communication in a university setting or educational institution is a plus.
