THE JOB

  • Energy Efficiency System Management
    • Assist the Manager in Energy Efficiency measures and its effective implementation across fleet with aim to achieve continual improvement and sustain high-energy (fuel) efficiency on board the vessels.

    2. Energy Efficiency – Monitoring of Vessel Daily Fuel Consumption Reporting

    • Assist the Manager in managing and ensuring daily consumption report from vessels for errors and any deviations to be immediately notified to concerned department subsequently.

    3. Energy Efficiency System Database

    • To Ensure regular updates to database for daily report, missing reports are follow-up with vessels appropriately. All past records of vessels performance on Energy (fuel) management are archived & records maintained for easy retrieval and reference. Development and improve productivity and efficiency on the data management received from vessels through new software.

    4. Energy Efficiency Emerging Technologies

    • Assist the Manager in preparation of project/proposal paper to responsible department for decision making for feasibility studies for emerging energy efficiency technologies for fuel optimization and cost benefits research for the introduction and buy- in by Fleet Operations, Business Units and Charterers for cost-sharing and implementation on board Fleet vessels. Enable effective implementation by assisting to institutionalize the approved action plans. Work on technology selection and integration of energy efficiency technologies and implementation on board vessels.

    5. Energy Efficiency Best Practices

    • Assist the Manager in managing, planning and preparation of best practice for improving operational performance of the vessel.

    6. Energy Efficiency Reports & Presentations

    • Analyse and ensure reports are prepared and submit to the responsible department monthly, quarterly and year to date report on the overall performance of the vessels with regards to energy utilization and emissions. To conduct meetings with various departments from time to time and communicate in forums on vessel’s performance, issues and problems pertaining to energy efficiency (fuels).

    7. Energy Efficiency Training

    • Assist the Manager to plan develop and conducting training, briefing, presentation, etc. on energy efficiency program or best practices to Superintendents and Sea Staff to increase awareness on energy efficiency optimization measures and its significance.

    8. Energy Efficiency Compliance & Audit

    • To ensure verification by the authorized verifier each year’s operational Data reporting regime.
    • To ensure timely data reporting to the regulatory bodies, such as, IMO-DCS, EU-MRV, UK-MRV, China-MRV, EU-ETS and FuelEU, and ensure Statement of Compliance obtained for fleet vessels in timely manner.
    • To monitor the Carbon Intensity Index (CII) Rating for each vessel in the fleet and work with the operation teams and execute monitoring regime to bring to satisfactory level.

    9. Energy Efficiency Alerts & Campaigns

    • Assist the Manager to compile and send alerts to all internal parties for energy efficiency from time to time for sharing information.

    10. Networking and Development

    • Enhance networking and relationship with external parties like Classification Societies, IMO, solution providers, Green Technology forums and Maritime forums working in the similar capacity and functions, with the objective of assisting in contributing new ideas and improvements to enhance the operational and technical excellence of MISC Marine fleet of vessels.

    THE PERSON

    Possessed at least Bachelor Degree in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture or equivalent.

    Good knowledge in Marine/ Maritime regulatory requirements and related technologies.

    Preferably candidate with minimum three (3) years of work experience in Marine/ Maritime business environment.

    Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (e.g. Excel, Power Point).

    Fresh graduate is encouraged to apply.
