UCT is looking for a talented Sr Manager, Global Category Management to join us in Malaysia! This position is responsible for establishing the strategic vision and operational priorities to support current and projected growth ensuring that the supply chain for the Raw Materials & Outsourced Secondary Process category to meet our business and annual operational objectives. This is a global category leadership within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization. The role oversees a team of regional commodity managers (RCM) reporting into the Global VP of Category Domain

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and spearhead the category strategy and plan within as a Subject-Matter-Expert, in alignment to the company's growth and supply requirements.
  • Devise negotiation strategy & lead global contractual negotiations.
  • Champion supplier measurement, development, and quarterly business reviews process.
  • Lead Supplier Selection Process which includes implementation of process and documented competitive assessments.
  • Interface & influence internal stakeholders to ensure strategic cost savings are executed with our strategic supply partners optimizing company profits.
  • Provide Monthly RM trends, report & recommend mitigation plan on RM to support mechanical categories like Machining & Frame SHM.
  • Negotiate RM/Secondary Processes to FG inventory stocking programs agreement (VMI/VOI) with suppliers to reduce lead-times, inventory cost, turns and cash flow.
  • Ensure Tier 2/3 BCP plans (RM+OSP) are in place to support business supply continuity.
  • Evaluate current and new suppliers to improve levels of services, capability/capacity gaps and develop/establish new sources where appropriate.
  • Drive supply chain performances in achieving cost, delivery, quality, time-to-market objectives.
  • Conducts quarterly global category and monthly business award reviews.
  • Create and enforce business processes that ensure timely, accurate, and automated data flow (collection, processing, storage, and analysis).
  • Execute full range of leadership responsibilities including performance management, employee development, recruiting, budget management, and strategic planning for the team.

Other Duties

  • Ability to travel internationally to our manufacturing and supplier sites (20-30%).

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Business degree with prior relevant years of mechanical category management will be ideal for this role. Directly related experience may be considered.
  • APICS/CPIM certification preferred.

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

  • 10+ years or more in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a broad knowledge of commodity, materials program & strategic supply chain management.
  • Experience in gas delivery components/sheet metal parts preferred.
  • Proven strong team building and employee development experience.
  • Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.

Management Experience:

  • At least 5 year of people management with strong leadership skills.
