Qualifications & experience
- Minimum Degree or Professional qualification in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in credit management or debt collection, proven track record in negotiating with customers and achieving collection targets.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong command of spoken and written English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Ability to speak in other dialects is an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a persuasive and results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Meticulous with a keen eye for details, critical thinking, analytical and proactive mindset. Experience in legal review a plus.
- A mature, calm demeanor and ability to handle challenging situations independently.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Monitor and update account status records in the system and track collection efforts on delinquent accounts.
- Initiate outbound collection calls and follow-ups with customers in default to recover overdue payment.
- Provide status updates and strategic recommendations to Management on delinquent accounts.
- Communicate with customers to ensure timely payment in line with financing due dates.
- Review and assess security documents for potential recovery actions.
- Negotiate with customers for payment arrangements, restructuring, or settlements.
- Conduct site visits to issuers' business premises as necessary to assess operations and repayment capacity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including internal teams and external legal counsel, on recovery-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, credit policies, and statutory regulations throughout the collection process. Manage stakeholder inquiries and compile stakeholder votes, when applicable.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of existing procedures and tools. Handle ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department, CEO, or Management. Testing new software and fixing bugs.
