With boundary-layer wind tunnel testing and CFD modelling at the heart of many of our services, the role of Principal Engineer works across and oversees many of our wind engineering projects for tall buildings and stadia, playing a critical role in the oversight of project delivery, and contributing to the company’s continued growth and development ambitions.

The role is typically held by individuals with extensive experience in aerodynamic modelling - wind tunnel testing & CFD - and / or structural effects of wind on buildings.

Primary Duties

The role carries the following main responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the general oversight of wind engineering projects, liaising closely with other senior staff as necessary.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to individuals and teams comprising Project Managers, Project Engineers and 3D Modelling Engineers, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Providing technical guidance & training to junior Engineers in their day-to-day activities.
  • Review of modelling findings & deliverables, technical & interpretive reports, responding to client and external peer review feedback.
  • Contribution towards the improvement of existing & creation of new procedures.
  • Adherence to quality assurance procedures.

Preferred Qualifications / Capabilities

  • A degree in aerospace / structural / civil / mechanical engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience within wind engineering consultancy.
  • A strong background in the delivery of wind microclimate, façade / cladding pressures and overall wind loading & building motions services, with experience of more 250 different structures.
  • Experience of using wind tunnel modelling to solve the challenges facing our customers is a must.

This is a remote ‘work-from-home’ position based in Malaysia. Regular in-person work-related and social gatherings are expected.

Salary to be expected is MYR 10,500 to 11,500 per month, with review following a successful initial period with the company.
