Senior Writer

We’re looking for a Senior Writer with experience in a news desk and have an interest in Malaysia’s property market. Candidates based in Johor are highly encouraged to apply.

What you'll be doing:

• Writing engaging, lively stories for multiple platforms, including EdgeProp's website and social media.
• Proactively generating and pitching original story ideas, covering everything from property market trends and their economic impacts, to identifying the latest property hotspots.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external media partners to deliver high-quality, impactful content across multiple channels.
• Analysing data and statistics, turning complex information into relatable stories for a broad audience.
• Taking ownership of content ideas and working independently, driving stories from inception to publication.
• Working closely with our editorial and design team, and external platforms.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in a writing or journalism role, with a proven experience writing for reputable publications.
• Ability to work with data - you must know how to interpret numbers and use them to tell compelling, insightful stories.
• Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to converse in Mandarin or BM.
• An interest in the Malaysian property market and SEO experience is a bonus.
