What is the opportunity?

RBC Investor Services Malaysia is a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographic time zones. RBC IS Malaysia employs a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of our global operations, improve service quality via our 'centres of excellence' and to implement/leverage standard processes globally.

As a Supervisor, Entitlements you will have responsibility over the efficiency and effectiveness of the services provided, risk and regulatory compliance of our processing practices and the overall superior delivery of entitlements services to our clients. You are responsible to provide day to day business support for the Entitlements department, across BAU, change, risk, engagement and metrics.

Working Hours - 3pm to 12am / 4pm-1am

What will you do?

Primary Responsibilities

  • Managed the processing of mandatory and voluntary corporate actions for equities and bonds, ensuring strict adherence to operational procedures.
  • Validated, reviewed, and authorized income payments, including coupons, dividends, and maturities, as well as corporate action events such as mergers and acquisitions, rights issues, takeovers, stock splits, conversions, and share purchase plans, all within specified timeframes.


Business Support

  • Ensure quality of service delivered by our entitlements group is in line with SLA's in place and that superior quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness of information delivery to internal and external clients
  • Conduct regular control testing for high risk processing and provide check on high risk corporate actions events such as voluntary corporate action events and post processing reconciliation
  • Identify procedures and processes which may require improvement and recommend changes that will enhance operational efficiency
  • Assist the Manager to ensure that best practice is shared and implemented across other Operating units undertaking similar entitlement processes
  • Ensure errors and omissions are debriefed with the team every time they occur. Follow up the action plan and implement new procedures if needed
  • Development and implementation of metrics, KPI's and capacity modeling
  • Support the business where required in processing
  • A key contact point for functions, including but not limited to, Control Assurance, Compliance, Business Management, L&D and Ops Control, Auditor, Product & Project Lead, Transitions & Oversight.
  • Eliminate error opportunities by reviewing all issues with the business units, identifying actions plans and following up to completion.
  • Complete in-depth process reviews when required
  • Review and ensure all KPI's are up to date and relevant
  • Produce management dashboards for tracking of the key risks and hotspots. Host monthly meetings to discuss the key areas and the takeaway actions.
  • Ensure all risk and compliance documentation are up to date and reviews are completed on time.
  • Track all key deliverables to the Goals and Objectives
  • Review of all market changes and implementation of new procedures
  • Support management in any other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Provide feedback on the BAU Performance to allow Line Manager in having coaching/appraisal and development discussion with the relevant staff
  • Organisation and delivery of regular team meetings to ensure that business information is effectively communicated
  • Ensure adequate cover at all times by monitoring workflows in conjunction with team holidays

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Must possess a thorough and methodical approach to the accurate processing of all allocated Income/ Corporate Actions.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of Income/ Corporate Actions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills and networking abilities with sub-custodians and internal departments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or alone to achieve collective goals
  • Good organization skills and ability to prioritize workloads to meet tight deadlines.
  • Be able to work under pressure.
  • Teamwork and collaboration
