Game Designer

As a mediator between design and programming in game development, Technical Game Designer will provide technical support to the design team, assisting with workflow, software and tools. As a technical reference for the Game Team, Technical Game Designer will assist, support and advise the team whenever necessary. The Technical Game Designer may also be called upon as one of the project’s technical experts on a specific game element.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the production and implementation of the technical elements of a complete game feature by working in close collaboration with designers, artists, programmers and collaborators in other work units
• A technical expert to ensure the tools, documents, technical support and determination and dissemination of best practices
• Contribute to data optimization and validation by ensuring the team comply with the technical standards that apply in the area of expertise.
• Periodically provide feedback and suggestions to improve tools and methods, bugs, etc.
• As an expert in technical design, help test new features and tools before they are deployed to the rest of the team
• Work closely with all departments in the company, bringing together narrative, art, code systems, UI, networking, animation, audio and many other elements to create immersive gameplay.

Job Requirements

• A Computer Science or Game Design degree is considered an advantage. However, relevant experience is taken into consideration.
• Minimum 3+ years in technical design, scripting or level design
• Experience as a game designer in a group project setting - either professional or as part of a degree program.
• At least 2 years’ experience with Unreal engine
• Must have shipped at least 1 game for Console/or PC preferably in the FPS Genre
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to details
