Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to lead BESS business development efforts in Malaysia. The role will involve identifying key business opportunities, cultivating relationships with stakeholders, and driving sales growth for large-scale BESS projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the renewable energy market, particularly in energy storage, and possess the skills to navigate Malaysia’s regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and drive the adoption of BESS solutions across Malaysia.
- Identify new business opportunities within the renewable energy and energy storage sectors, targeting key players such as utilities, developers, and large industrial customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government bodies, and other relevant stakeholders to secure long-term contracts and partnerships.
- Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to achieve sales targets.
Market Intelligence & Strategy:
- Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities for BESS.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align business development strategies with corporate objectives.
- Develop and implement market entry and expansion strategies for new regions within Malaysia.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Manage key accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
- Provide exceptional customer service by offering tailored energy storage solutions that meet client needs.
- Actively engage with local authorities and industry associations to stay updated on policy changes affecting the renewable energy landscape.
Project Development Support:
- Work closely with project management and technical teams to ensure the smooth execution of BESS projects.
- Participate in bid preparation and lead commercial negotiations to ensure favorable terms for the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in sales, business development, or project development within the renewable energy or energy storage sectors.
- Demonstrated success in closing high-value contracts and managing key client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia’s renewable energy market, including government policies and regulations around energy storage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Malaysia and internationally as required.
