Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of tax computations for the submission of income tax returns to the IRB strictly in accordance to the relevant submission due dates.
  • Review of tax computation for statutory audit with Inland Revenue Board.
  • Attend to tax audits and investigations.
  • Conduct productive liaison with the IRB and other relevant government departments on applications, appeals and audits on tax-related matters.
  • Administer tax planning, estimation and revision for Inland Revenue Board.
  • Administer SST submission and attend to tax issues on SST.
  • Manage and administer overall efficiency on a full suite of tax services.
  • Lead team and work coherently among inter-department team members.
  • Participate and lead team members in carrying out indirect tax assignments.
  • Participate and lead team members in tax advisory assignments including international tax planning, transfer pricing issues, tax incentives and applications, tax impact on corporate restructuring, cross border transactions, etc.
  • Provide learning/ knowledge materials with presentation and training to clients / partners.
  • Provide updates on the relevant newly enacted tax legislations and tax rulings.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess minimum Degree in Accounting or professional qualification. Preferably with professional accounting body ( PA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • CTIM/MIA member will be added advantage.
  • Candidates with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience in overall areas in Taxation under a practice outfit.
  • Working experience in liaising with IRB/ Customs on tax audits and investigation matters will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to lead a team and administer all tax matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin speakers will be an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, interpersonal skills and time management skills.
  • Good in follow-up and reporting, ability to work independently, multitask, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to start work with short notice will be an advantage.
