Brew Crew Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Be a World Class Barista (& Tearista!) serving our amazing customers. You bring the passion, we provide the training, and you share the best specialty coffee & tea with the customer.
  • Guide customers through their coffee & tea experience from beginning to end providing exceptional customer service.
  • Serve a full range of products from our famous beverages to delicious food and beautiful merchandise.
  • Create meaningful moments - Share your knowledge, our heritage, and our sustainability practices with customers.
  • Handle cash transactions honestly, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Care about the safety & health of our Brew Crew and customers.
  • Take pride in the appearance of your café, maintaining a clean and organized environment, in accordance with health and safety regulations. We are seeking friendly, curious, and collaborative Café Supervisors, who will be responsible for the supervision of the Brew Crews, so that they will maintain the quality of service and products, and enforce all procedures in the absent of the Café Manager. The Café Supervisor will fulfil any other duties assigned by the Café Manager or Assistant Manager and will represent The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in a professional manner.

    You will enter our famous ‘Barista Academy’ from your very first day and develop expertise in the craft of coffee and tea, gaining valuable career skills — Your development is our priority.

    Cafe Supervisor Key Responsibilities

    In this role, you will:

    1. Sales and Customers Service

    Maintains a profitable reputable café, that is:

    • Handles cash transactions honestly, efficiently, and accurately.
    • Assists in the supervision of the profitable café.
    • Assists the Café & Assistant Manager in planning and executing all sales promotions effectively and efficiently.
    • Maintains an efficient, friendly service standard at all time.
    • Politely answers the telephone and customer questions.
    • Responds proactively to prevent and resolve customer service situations.
    • Handles all drink and food items during preparation safely.
    • Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.
    • Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner.

      So as to meet and exceed sales targets, and surpass customer’s expectations on each occasion.

      2. Store Operations

      Maintaining efficient and sales targets, and surpass customer’s expectations on each occasion, that is:

      • Completes daily report as assigned.
      • Informs the Café Manager / Assistant Manager of any operational inconsistencies.
      • Maintains acceptable amounts of coffee, baked goods and supplies for the bar.
      • Orders baked goods, coffee and supplies when needed.
      • Performs opening and closing duties
      • Reports all employee accidents to the Café Manager / Assistant Manager and complete all personnel forms when necessary.
      • Reports potential safety hazards to Café Manager / Assistant Manager.
      • Restocks shelves when necessary.
      • Cleans the bar area, floor, grinders, take out trash, etc routinely.
      • Takes bank deposit to the bank and brings change back if necessary.

        So as to create an environment conducive for attaining monthly sales targets.

        3. Employee Development

        Motivating & Developing crews, that is:

        • Assists in the training of new employees.
        • Delegates duties to Brew Crews as necessary.
        • Leads by example.
        • Motivates crews to maintain and serve consistent quality products every time.
        • Perpetuates Company philosophy and culture.
        • Schedules breaks as necessary.

          So as to develop and motivate our employees.

          4. Product Knowledge

          Delivers consistent quality products, that is:

          • Assists the Café Manager and Assistant Manager in educating all Brew Crews on all products and services.
          • Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards.
          • Oversees drink-making and ensuring that only consistent quality drinks and products are served.
          • Strictly adheres to and enforcing SOPs on all drink and gourmet items.

            So as to maintain the highest standards of products of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stands for.

            5. Store Presentation

            Maintains a comfortable, conducive outlet by:

            • Follows guidelines on music.
            • Keeps all tables cleared of trays and used utensil or cups.
            • Keeps all floors dry & free of litter.
            • Maintains a clean, well-merchandised café.

              So as to provide a warm and inviting environment in which our customers can enjoy their world-class of coffee and tea.

Brew Crew (Barista) - Your Ingredients

Our Brew Crew is fueled by curiosity. We embrace new ideas and experiences in the pursuit of bettering ourselves, our organization, and the customers we serve.

  • Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred, however not required, as training will be provided in our Barista Academy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
