Overall Summary

  • Drive sales and profitability of the Brand and the Stores.
  • Maintain strong relationship with Brand principal and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive retail excellence in line with the Brand and Valiram standards
  • Work with Merchandising to place appropriate orders, optimize inventory and oversee in inventory integrity.
  • Work with Marketing to put in place the appropriate marketing activities/promotions for positive Brand building and driving sales.
  • Work with Visual Merchandising to make sure that the store environment is enticing, effective and in line with Brand Guidelines.
  • Foster a positive, engaging and ethical working environment

Key Responsibility Areas:

Optimize the sales, profits and other retail performance criteria.

  • Strategize and implement brand communication needs in keeping with the integrity of the brand and regional appeal.
  • Maximize turnover by ensuring accurate, timely and commercial sales planning and forecasting.
  • Plan and maximize the sales and profit contribution of the Brand
  • Develop annual business plan to reflect brand positioning and deliver business plan profit through delivery of both volume and cash margin
  • Evaluate market conditions, competitors' data and implement appropriate change to maximize sales
  • Managing and maintaining a positive working relationship with the brand principal

Brand Planning, Purchasing and Analysis

  • Attend, if necessary seasonal market buys; placing orders within brand timelines
  • Communicate product opportunities to brand seasonally
  • Provide AOP (Annual Operating Plan) to brand principal (if applicable)
  • Conduct monthly/ quarterly/ annual business review with brand principal
  • Share product performance and insight with brand principal internally as required in consultation with General Manager.
  • Compilation of all reports and statistics related to the performance of the brand.

Inventory Management

  • Work with merchandising department to manage full price and mark down / end of season sales, intake margins, level of mark down activities and terminal stock.
  • Evaluate stock requirements and ensuring timely replenishment.
  • Ensure maximum stock turns and controlling aged inventory
  • Guarantee Inventory Integrity.

Marketing

  • Work with the Marketing department to properly implement marketing initiatives in the stores in the country.
  • Provide insights to Valiram and the Brand, to better understand market trends and dynamics.
  • Plan and implement events calendar for positive brand building through promotional activities
  • Ensure a copy of all final marketing materials are sent to brand principal if requested.

Ensure Retail Standards, Product and Visual Merchandising are maintained

  • Conduct store visits within the country and report back on observations
  • Visual displays and merchandising to be in accordance with Brand Visual Merchandising Guidelines
  • Ensure compliance on all Visual Merchandising standards at all stores and train if necessary
  • Share store photos with brand principal if required and in a timely manner.

Team Leadership

  • Monitor rosters of all staff/all stores and be responsible for Store PICs’ performance.
  • Conduct timely staff appraisal and quarterly performance review.
  • Improve staff morale leading to positive and dynamic working attitude.
  • Staff to conduct themselves in a proper and professional manner in compliance with the Code of Business Conduct

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Professional Degree in any discipline
  • At least 10 years of retail experience with minimum 7-8 years in retail management or related field
  • At least 10 years of brand management and/or marketing experience in retail or luxury retail industry will be added advantage
  • Good business insights to the industry and strong business acumen.
  • Good Interpersonal & communication Skill
  • Strong sales acumen
  • Proven Leadership Skill
  • Able to manage complex and competing priorities
  • Analytical and business driven
  • Pleasant and able to work in team
  • Willing to travel both locally and overseas.
  • Fluent English in written and spoken. Able to converse in other language is an added advantage.
