DevOps Engineer

We are recruiting a DevOps Engineer for one of the nation’s largest and most esteemed banks. This role presents an excellent opportunity to work within the banking sector, focusing on innovative solutions across both cloud and on-premise infrastructure. In this position, you will assist our client in navigating the intricacies of a hybrid environment, managing AWS cloud resources alongside traditional on-prem systems, ensuring secure, efficient, and seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage a hybrid infrastructure that combines AWS cloud services with on-prem systems, emphasizing performance, security, and scalability in a regulated banking environment.
• Leverage Kubernetes or Docker to deploy, manage, and orchestrate containerized applications across both platforms to ensure streamlined operations.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) through tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration across the hybrid environment.
• Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline) to enable continuous integration and deployment, promoting faster and more reliable software releases.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to build resilient, compliant, and secure systems that meet the rigorous requirements of the banking sector.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize both cloud and on-premise infrastructure to maintain resilience, high availability, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Apply security best practices across all environments, focusing on risk management, data security, and regulatory compliance.
  
  

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC) alongside hands-on experience with on-prem systems, preferably within a highly regulated industry like banking or finance.
• Hands-on experience with Java (Springboot) or Node.JS Express.
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Solid foundation of SQL and Database Fundamentals.
• Strong skills in Kubernetes or Docker for managing containers in a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment.
• Expertise in Terraform or Ansible for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Proven experience in establishing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Advanced scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or other languages to automate workflows and ensure smooth operations.
• Thorough understanding of compliance, security, and performance optimization in both cloud and on-prem environments, with a particular focus on the banking or finance sector.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering robust and secure solutions that comply with stringent banking regulations.
