Inviting applications for the role of Operational Sourcing Specialist –Cantonese Speaker
In this role, you need a validated understanding in indirect sourcing, contract management and e-sourcing! We need you to compromise with the vendor in line with the relevant client policies and procedures to ensure goods/services are delivered to client expectations and in compliance with any relevant laws and regulations!
You will rate and handle performance of suppliers, ensure supplier performance of all contracts.
Your role will be an individual contributor role and maintaining global suppliers.
You will be encouraged to collaborate closely with the customers to understand their requirements and close them in the given time frame.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and amend vendor contracts.
- Handle extensions and renewals of vendor contracts.
- Work on statements of work/ Sub agreements/ call-offs wherever required.
- Will have to strategize and negotiate actively with suppliers and scout for better suppliers.
- Will participate periodically to reviews with Regional commodity managers to ensure strategies are aligned and pipeline activity is proceeding.
- Carry out all reporting requirements accurately and within the specified time scales.
- Update / build SOP and process maps Requirements.
- Standard etiquette when presenting – introductions, requesting vs demanding, communicate reasons/impacts for requests, connect with suppliers and partners what to expect, expressing thanks.
- Connect with the audience and end in mind, for example: what is important and relevant, how to engage contribution and collaboration, providing enough direction, anticipating questions and providing answers upfront.
- Develop appropriate Supplier Management tools and processes and guide the business through the execution and use of those guides.
- Ensure contracts are fully addressed and appropriate, in terms of the requirements and commercial terms. Reduce ambiguity in contracts.
- Make sure that the contracts are clear on what needs to be achieved – results/critical metrics/SLAs as well as processes to engage and pay. What should not be in a contract.
- Evaluate sourcing levers for all projects – supply market leverage, supply base restructuring, value added relationships, design/specification optimisation, total cost management, process effectiveness & compliance. This will need to be applied in conjunction with understanding cost base, supply markets and business needs/requirements.
- Work with Business to confirm risk assessment results matches the engagement and ensure appropriate supplier qualification procedures have been completed. Enable appropriate briefing to legal. Don’t award contracts until risk management activities have been completed.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Substantial work experience in a sourcing role, preferably with indirect services experience.
- Validated understanding of Sourcing & Procurement activities and build sophisticated business-related reports for day to day activity.
- Strong customer centric focus, relationship management with key partners, persuasive, negotiating, proactive and can-do demeanour a must.
- Knowledge of process, policies and procedures (WHAT, WHERE, WHERE, WHO, HOW) including the ‘WHY’ there are in place. Compliance to requirements.
- Differentiate between commercial and legal terms.
- Listen to understand.
Preferred qualifications
- Excellent verbal communication in Cantonese and written Mandarin skills, the ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, speaks efficient and informatively and respond to customers over the phone, email or by chat.
- Good command of MS Office Tools (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Data analytics skills.
