Seeking an experience Head of Modern Trade to lead their FMCG growth in Malaysia
Head of Modern Trade
An established food MNC in the FMCG industry with a strong focus on growth and market innovation to expand their presence in Malaysia through retail partnership.
Your new role
- Lead modern trade business development, ensuring effective long-term partnerships with distributors and strategic growth in net sales, distribution, and Margin After Conversion (MAC).
- Drive trade expenditure efficiency, align sales forecasts, and execute impactful product displays and promotions.
- Implement sales strategies and marketing initiatives, collaborating with distributors to drive Route-To-Market (RTM) and in-store excellence.
- Collaborate with key accounts to develop joint-customer business plans (JBP), prioritize e-commerce channels, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Strengthen physical and digital availability in line with Perfect Stores and Perfect Screen standards, and provide category leadership through retailer partnerships.
- Manage trade expenditure and optimize return on investment (ROI) through strategic promotional evaluations.
- Oversee distributor alignment and conduct periodic reviews to achieve sales targets through customer-specific solutions.
- Inspire and lead the modern trade team, practicing line management excellence, nurturing talent, and fostering an inclusive and high-performing team culture.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field.
- Extensive FMCG sales experience with a strong background in modern trade and business development.
- Proven experience in strategic business planning, sales forecasting, and building distributor networks.
- Demonstrated success in growing or transforming businesses within complex environments.
- Excellent communication skills, a highly engaged leadership style, and a positive, entrepreneurial mindset.
