Job Description
Key responsibilities:
- Advise the Publicis Groupe’s APAC agencies on all commercial legal aspects of their business, including conducting legal clearance, negotiating marketing services contracts, media planning and buying agreements, as well as other service offerings, including digital advertising and, content and performance marketing;
- Review, draft, revise and negotiate services agreements and other commercial contracts (such as Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Licences) for both clients and vendors;
- Coordinate, manage and draft legal response to new clients’ pitch proposals; review non-disclosure and other new business agreements;
- Support the agencies in relation to disputes and litigation resolution and provide internal reports;
- Support in the coordination and management of multi-market service agreements, and related local addenda;
- Advise on contract and regulatory compliance matters, including data privacy, advertising clearance and compliance, licensing and other IP matters;
- Support in developing legal precedents and best practices;
- Keep up to date and ensure awareness of current issues affecting the creative and media industries and their implications on client contract negotiations;
- Flexibility and willingness to take on work from across the Groupe and other business areas of the Publicis Groupe to ensure that the Re:Sources Legal team can manage the overall workload efficiently and that all members of the legal team have an understanding of the business as a whole;
- Assist in training agencies as well as members of the legal team on commercial legal considerations in the creative, media and digital agency space and related approaches.
Qualifications
- Qualified Advocate & Solicitor (or equivalent) with solid experience, ideally with at least 7 years’ post qualification experience in an in-house or law firm environment.
- Experience of advertising clearance;
- Good knowledge of commercial contract and IP law;
- Experience of a wide range of commercial contracts;
- Good knowledge of and experience of employment law issues;
- Previous legal experience of creative related matters.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills;
- Strong ability to assess risk, work under pressure and prioritise related issues;
- Demonstration of a pragmatic and commercial approach to legal challenges;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate legal risks and challenges in a succinct, understandable and commercial way;
- Strong research skills;
- Comfortable using and advising on technology.
- Flexible, collaborative and strong team working skills, with willingness to take on a variety of work and support colleagues when needed;
- Ability to remain resilient, vigilant and calm in a demanding environment;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Curious, with the desire and ability to grow and build expertise;
