Our client is on the hunt for a committed and knowledgeable Manufacturing Engineer to join their vibrant team in Penang.
This role presents a unique opportunity to manage and evaluate risk throughout all stages of the Product Life Cycle, contributing valuable insights from concept to scale-up. The successful candidate will have the privilege of working closely with Product Development and Manufacturing Operations, spearheading projects related to Best Cost Manufacturing and aligning with business objectives.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your role will be instrumental in managing the risk associated with the Product Life Cycle. You will provide early vendor and supplier input, estimate cycle times based on Proof-of-Concept designs, drive PLC requirements, create robust test plans for manufacturing, develop tooling and fixtures based on capital equipment requirements, and update risk mitigation plans. Your expertise in sustaining engineering will be vital in implementing manufacturing quality improvement strategies and developing documentation for both contract manufacturing and operations.
The ideal candidate for this Manufacturing Engineer position brings a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering. With at least three years of experience in mechanical and automation assembly designs, you are well-versed in DFMA/DFx processes for design and fabrication. Your knowledge of SAP will be beneficial as it is the ERP system used by our client. Your proven experience in BOM maintenance, engineering changes, process improvements, lean manufacturing, DMAIC, NPI, sustaining production will set you apart.

- Provide sustaining engineering expertise and project management of in-sourcing strategies.
- Implement manufacturing quality improvement strategy through final functional verification process.
- Develop Manufacturing Documentation, Tooling, and Test Fixtures for both contract manufacturing and operations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for Gross Margin improvements through Risk and Mitigation plans per PLC and sourcing strategies.
- Lead product ownership from Proof of Manufacturing through Obsolescence.
- Maintain BOM, Engineering Changes, Design Improvements, Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, DFMA and DFx in NPI.

- B.S in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years current experience preferred, in Mechanical and automation assembly designs.
- Strong background in Manufacturing Engineering metrology background and product transition into operations preferred.
- Knowledge in SAP would be advantageous as that’s the ERP system that Bruker is using.
- Experience with BOM maintenance, Engineering Changes, Process Improvements, Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, NPI, Sustaining Production.
