Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead financial operations in our financing division, specifically focusing on hire purchase loans. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IFRS 9, particularly the expected credit loss (ECL) model, and be proficient in managing relationships with bankers, auditors, and other key stakeholders. This role also involves system integration, handling month-end closures, and providing insightful financial analysis for decision-making.

What You Will Do

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close:

  • Lead month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of management accounts.
  • Analyze financial data and provide constructive feedback and recommendations to the management team for improving financial performance and decision-making.

Banking & Financial Projections:

  • Act as the primary contact for bankers, managing relationships to facilitate loan negotiations, projections, and management accounts.
  • Prepare and present financial projections, cash flow forecasts, and other critical financial data.

IFRS 9 & Expected Credit Loss (ECL) Management:

  • Oversee the implementation and compliance with IFRS 9, focusing on the ECL model.
  • Ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and monitoring of expected credit losses on financial assets.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Coordinate and manage external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

System Integration & Process Improvement:

  • Lead efforts to integrate new financial systems or enhance existing ones, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate reporting.
  • Continuously review and improve financial processes, identifying areas for increased efficiency and automation to support scalable growth.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:

  • Assist in the management of cash flow and working capital, ensuring the business maintains adequate liquidity for operational needs.
  • Provide recommendations for optimizing the company’s cash flow and working capital efficiency.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, etc.) is preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in the financing industry, ideally within hire purchase loans or similar sectors.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS 9 and the ECL model.
  • Proven experience in dealing with bankers and managing financial projections.
  • Experience with system integration or a strong mindset for digital financial transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of financial auditing, reporting, and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in managing cash flow and working capital in a financial institution or related field will be an added advantage.
