Position Summary
Sales Development Manager leads the sales and product consultant team within defined region to maintain trade execution excellence and achieve sales targets. This role will be responsible for developing strategic sales initiatives and cultivating strong relationship with key stakeholders at decision-maker level to drive sustainable business growth. Sales Development Manager ensures that the trade investment is optimized within budget to drive profitable growth.
You will play an essential role to:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develops high-level sales strategies for the entire region, taking into account market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Sets ambitious yet achievable sales targets and objectives for each branch within the region, aligned with overall company goals and growth targets.
- Oversees the implementation of sales strategies and action plans across multiple branches, ensuring consistency and alignment with company standards.
2. Team Leadership and Management
- Provides strong leadership and direction to sales and product consultant team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Sets performance expectations and KPIs for sales team, regularly monitoring progress and providing feedback and support to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
- Invests in the professional development and growth of sales team, providing coaching, training, and opportunities for advancement within the organization.
3. Customer Relationship Management
- Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners at a regional level, identifying opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Acts as a primary point of contact for high-profile customers and accounts, addressing their needs, concerns, and feedback to ensure a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborates with sales teams to develop and implement customer-centric strategies and initiatives that drive sales and strengthen customer relationships.
4. Sales Forecasting and Budget Management
- Develops accurate sales forecasts and budgets for the entire region, based on thorough market analysis, historical data, and input from sales teams.
- Monitors regional sales performance against targets and budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure goals are met.
- Allocates resources effectively across multiple branches, optimizing sales budgets, incentives, and promotional activities to maximize ROI and drive profitability.
5. Channel Development and Management
- Oversees channel development and management strategies at a regional level, identifying new distribution channels, partners, and opportunities for expansion.
- Negotiates and establishes agreements with distributors, retailers, and other channel partners to ensure optimal coverage and penetration in the market.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Customer Relationship Management, Communications, Business Administration or any other related field. The equivalent of this in working experience is also acceptable for this position.
- At least 8 years’ experience in Sales Management dealing with Modern Trade and General Trade channels.
- At least 3 years’ experience in people leadership role.
