Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Credit Audit Section/ Department Head(s) in the development of the Annual Audit Plan for the Section/ Department, including completion of the audit risk universe identification/ assessment/ profiling (Corporate/ Retail/ Shariah Portfolio), resource planning and allocation etc.
- Assist the Credit Audit Section/ Department Head(s) in ensuring that the approved Audit Plans of the Corporate Credit/ Post Mortem/ Retail Credit/ Shariah and other cross functional audits and ad-hoc assignments are being carried out and completed.
- Conduct Pre-Audit Risk Assessment, identify audit objectives/ scopes/ methodology/ samples andprepare the Audit Planning Memorandum, for the areas/ entities units to be audited.
- Lead, manage and conduct the credit audit/ post mortem review within the timeframe allocated.
- Assist Credit Audit Sections/ Department Head(s) in reviewing and providing feedback on policies and procedures and other consultancy services requested by the Management.
- Ensure that all control lapses and weaknesses are raised for management's information and consideration for the next course of actions. Determine any potential fraud (internal/ external) that lead to the accounts turned NPF/ problematic.
- Provide practical and value-added recommendation and lesson learnt in improving (1) the Bank’s end-to-end control/ risk management processes, to prevent past errors/ gaps, (2) ascertain the needs for upskilling credit personnel, (3) improvement of credit culture & (4) accountability/ consequence management arising from the staff’s negligence/ lack of due-care/ fraud.
- Review junior team members' productivity/ progress, working papers and reports; to ensure findings raised are of with sufficient facts, documentary evidence, appropriate, logical and valid.
- Prepare and review all audit findings/ observations based on the evidence and recommend/ provide audit opinion upon conclusion of the audit/ review within agreeable timeline.
- Prepare the audit/ post mortem report and Presentation Dashboard, including improvisation of contents/ substances.
- Ensure the working papers are prepared comprehensively, in accordance to the department’s standard for each audit engagement. Provide guidance and on the job training to team members.
- Track and validate closures of audit finding/ recommendation by the auditees/management.
Key Qualifications:
- Risk-based audit, credit, investigation and internal control framework
- Inquisitive, possess critical thinking, analytical, good communication and report writing skills
- Leadership, negotiation and people management skills
- Strong understanding of auditing, credit, investigation and banking/ regulatory operations
- Bachelor Degree in Accountancy/ Finance/ Business Administration/ etc. and equivalent
- Certification for Banks Auditors
- Professional Credit Certification (BCP/RCP/CCE/CCP) or Chartered Banker
- More than 10 years of experience in Banking / Internal Audit specialising in Credit Audit or Credit Review/ Investigation
