JR43047 Accounting Compliance and Technical Manager

Responsibilities

The Compliance and Technical Expert is responsible for providing consultation and advisory services, crafting and providing training/workshops to Micron accountants, developing accounting policies for legal entities aembracing IFRS or IFRS equivalent accounting framework and execution of GL related transformation initiatives under the management of the Global Finance Center of Excellence (GFC). Key responsibilities include:

  • Provision of consultancy and advisory services on technical related inquiries, including but not limited to IFRS technical, ISA related requirements from external auditors and other financial reporting/compliance matters.
  • Delivering high quality, timely and valuable outputs to partners to ensure Micron complies with all accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Supporting continuous learning and improvement initiatives by crafting and conducting technical training or workshops for Micron accountants. This may include scope such as corporate reporting updates (New standards/amendments), refresher training for key financial reporting matter and new insights on accounting in multifaceted business world.
  • Developing, monitoring and updating Micron’s IFRS accounting policies in-line with any new standards and amendments to existing accounting standards. Working together with finance, functional team and BU leaders to ensure the policies are developed/amended collectively.
  • Engage in driving projects in support of the wider global Finance transformation initiatives, which may sometimes be outside the scope of compliance and technical.

Qualifications

  • BSc / BA Accounting or similar Degree.
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA or equivalent).
  • 10 years of experience or more working in a global organization. External auditor experience is an added advantage.
  • Ability to effectively work across organizations and geographies with tolerance for high ambiguity.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and extensive in-depth knowledge & practical experience of IFRS, Local GAAP, Accounting & Statutory Audit processes, the diversity of requirements across International jurisdictions as well as experience and understanding of US GAAP Accounting.
  • Results driven and interpersonal savvy.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to challenge the status quo
  • Strong capability in financial systems will be an added advantage, including SAP, Local GAAP & Reporting systems (eg. Workiva).
