Job Overview:
You will be responsible to lead and manage a sub-unit in charge of the overall delivery of modification projects towards meeting the company’s objective.
- This role will ensure all projects phases (design, procurement, execution and completion), including turnaround/shutdown scopes, is conducted in compliance with the project objectives and contractual requirements which include quality, HSE, schedule, and cost, in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- This role requires experienced personnel with a proven track record in implementing modification projects utilizing systematic project methods and software tools.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a project team consisting of a draughtsman and a document controller providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Assist in developing manuals, work processes and procedures for project development & management as well as shutdown/turnaround management.
- Implement improvement projects that provide engineered solutions to problems that increase facility, equipment and process reliability, safety and efficiency.
- Provide end-to-end project management, from scope definition, budget requisition, detailed project plan, all the way to complete documentation handover and post-project evaluation.
- Responsible for communicating all design matters relating to projects with various stakeholders, helping to ensure that the multi-disciplinary teams work together smoothly, and ensuring that timelines are met so that projects are safely delivered on time with the expected quality.
- Assist in organizing turnaround/shutdown planning meetings and gate reviews in accordance with established schedules, milestones, budget and company requirements.
- Coordinate internal resources and/or contractors on work execution of projects and turnaround/shutdown.
- Perform quality control throughout the project to maintain the standards expected.
- Participate in HSE and emergency response related activities, such as Safe System of Work implementation, MOC, PSSR, incident action plans, etc.
- Provide regular communication to management, steering team and stakeholders.
- Complete other temporary tasks assigned by superior in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized institution and registered with Board of Engineers (BEM).
- 7 years of experience in project management field related to Refinery or Petrochemical industries.
- PMP or equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
- Lean Six Sigma certification will be an added advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering practices in the applicable International Codes, Standards and Specifications.
- Comprehensive understanding of project procedures Engineering, Bidding procedures, Procurement Processes, Quality Assurance requirements and up to date Best Practices.
- Excellent understanding of contract documents (inclusive of appendices, drawings and specifications), project execution plan, interface management, change management, construction sequencing, standards specifications and project schedule to support Department Manager in timely completion of projects.
- Excellent understanding of scheduling strategies/principles and recovery methods.
- Experienced in coordinating plant shutdowns/turnarounds work scopes from planning to postmortem stages (optional).
