We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Chef/Cook/General Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and be capable of handling various responsibilities in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires a blend of culinary skills, kitchen management, and general maintenance tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Culinary Duties:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high-quality and consistency.
  • Follow recipes and presentations as instructed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Manage inventory and ingredients, including ordering supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to health and safety standards.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new recipes and menu items.

2. Kitchen Management:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of kitchen staff.
  • Monitor food quality and ensure timely delivery of meals.
  • Maintain and clean kitchen equipment and utensils.

3. General Maintenance:

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and equipment.
  • Dispose of waste and manage recycling according to company policies.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down kitchen stations for various shifts and events.
  • Handle miscellaneous tasks such as stocking supplies and assisting with event setups.

4. Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers when needed to address any special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure a positive dining experience by maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef, Cook, or similar role in a commercial kitchen.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
