Connect Energy partners with a consultancy firm to look for a PROJECT MANAGER with water treatment plant experience to work in Selangor, Malaysia for 12 - 18 months contract.

- Project Planning and Management:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Design and Engineering:
- Collaborate with engineers and Client to develop effective design solutions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Implementation and Execution:
- Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the project.
- Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project specifications and schedules.
- Supervise the site inspections conducted by the Inspectors of Works (IOWs) to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support to Engineers and IOWs to resolve any issues encountered during inspections and testing & commissioning.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to the approved budget.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including project team members, clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the project adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
- Health, Safety & Environment Management:
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary, with the HSE Manager.
- Regulatory and Approval Processes:
- Familiar with local regulations and the submission process for obtaining approvals from relevant authorities.
- Ensure timely submission of required documentation and follow up on approval processes to avoid project delays.
- Preparation of Technical Proposals:
- Lead the preparation of technical proposals for consultancy works.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals that meet client requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, or a related field. PEPC registration with BEM is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management, particularly in renewables, green energy, utilities, power generation, or industrial projects.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Knowledge and experience in renewable energy (RE) and green energy are an added advantage.
- Familiarity with local regulations and the authorities' submission process and approval.
