JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Supervise a team of maintenance workers engaged in the repair and upkeep of highways, roads, bridges, and related infrastructure.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, including pavement repair, pothole patching, roadside vegetation control, and signage installation.
  • Ensure that maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of highways and infrastructure to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.
  • Monitor the quality of work performed by maintenance crews and provide feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments and agencies, including engineering, traffic management, and environmental services, to address maintenance issues and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment usage, and material inventory.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff in proper maintenance techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents, hazardous spills, or severe weather events, to ensure the safety and integrity of the highway system.
  • Responsible in supervising. Evaluate and verifying all sub-contract works carried out on site by the sub-contractors.
  • Manage and to verify the Repair and Replacement Works carried out sub-contractors.
  • Assists in verifying the Work Programme on Routine Maintenance Work submitted by the sub-contractor prior to the submission and approval form the client.
  • Ensure the compliance of OSHA requirement on site.
  • Undertake any other related duties, task and responsibilities as assigned, instructed, and directed by immediate superior.


Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in infrastructure maintenance, particularly highways and roads.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively, as well as direct and guide maintenance staff.
