ASSISTANT MANAGER FARM PLANTATION

Responsible for full spectrum of operation activities for Plantation Division. ◼ Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures and documentation. ◼ Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problem and inquiries In charge of field operation activities for plantation projects as follows: Aqina Fruits Sdn Bhd Other new Farm companies that will establish in the future ◼ Working with respective supervisor and foreman(mandur) to ensure the estate is working in optimum efficiency from land preparation, seeding to harvesting. ◼ To monitor day-to-day plantation operations and identify problem areas and take corrective actions ensuring annual target planting/fruits and seeds harvest ◼ To ensure proper monitoring systems are implemented for all tending activities like general tractor work, spraying, weeding, pruning, harvesting, slashing, plantation protection (fire/disease) and other farming practices for the plantation. ◼ To liase with the plantation management team on the management of fertilization scheduling and other irrigation duties, regular plantation pest and disease inspections, leaf and soils test for plant nutrition and appropriate of plantation plant and equipment. ◼ Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and devise contingency plans. ◼ To implement strategies, review and set triggers to ensure KPI’s and objective are met in respective divisions. ◼ Work collaboratively with the management team to identify, resolve and manage operational issues and challenges to achieve business objectives ◼ To attend and maintain strong relationships with government, public institutions, non-governmental efficiency and effective labour management when required. ◼ To manage all phase of work from replanting, maintenance, monitor crops, ensure operational efficiency and effective labour management. ◼ Plan, organize, implement and control all operations and activities within the plantation according to the practice and guidelines provided by company. I.e.; MYGAP, ISO, ISO Document, others. ◼ Provide effective leadership and motivation. ◼ Progress reports to the HQ. ◼ To review and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly report from plantation. To highlight any issues and to solve the issues. ◼ To attend monthly meeting with relevant authority, I.e. Felda, Agro Bank or similar agency. ◼ To attend and prepared monthly meeting for the presentation slide on the monthly meeting with the relevant authority. ◼ Other duties as assigned. Daily Duties 1. Implements the following: Fruit Harvesting Ensure to harvest volume needed based on order from buyers Ensure to harvest quality fruits based on harvest order specifications Ensure the proper handling of fruits to maintain good quality. No leftover fruits in the field to maximize the yield. Fruit Packing Ensure the proper handling of fruits to maintain good quality. Ensure the proper selection of fruits based on size, shell color, shape and crown-specifications. Ensure that brix and translucency meet the requirement measurement. Ensure that fruits properly treated (if necessary) Proper handling of fruits during packing, boxes filling and loading. Ensure to pack volume needed based on orders from buyers. Check the box weight. Check the weighing of fruits (crates) Seeds Harvesting Enure that workers harvest seeds based on size specification to minimize rejection. Ensure that target quantity will be attained. Ensure proper harvesting and handling to avoid damage seedlings. Schedule on time harvest of seeds to maximize production. Spraying Ensure the correct measurement of chemical, fertilizers and water during mixing. Proper application of solution to the plants Ensure on time application based on schedule. Planting Ensure to meet the planting target both commercial and nursery. Ensure to plant homogeneous size in a sub cut. Proper planting distance be observe based on recommendations. Fruit Protection Ensure on time application. Ensure the correct and proper wrapping of fruits to avoid rejections Ensure the correct and on time application of rat control. Weed Control Ensure the correct timing of herbicide application Schedule manual weeding on the area that need weed control Canalita/Desilting Canal Ensure no stagnant water in the field. Ground Fertilization Ensure on time application. Check the rate application Knapsack Spraying Weed Control Disease control Special applications Rodenticide Application Ensure on time application Check damage severity B. Report to Farm Manager C. Others Impliment discipline to workers Ensure working time in and out followed Preparation of DTR’s Signing of documents and reports Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree. Good command of local language and dialects. Have a good knowledge of Plantation or Farming legislation body. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. A minimum of 2 year’s experience in Plantations. Able to work with minimum supervision in high-energy and demanding environment.
