KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Welding: • Oversee and report on the fabrication, installation, erection, and testing of process piping, steel structures, tanks, vessels, and other metallic components. • Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and weld maps. • Observe and confirm welder qualifications. • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and welding consumables, maintaining material traceability as needed and using the correct materials. • Implement a control system for welding consumables. • Verify that welding machines, baking ovens, and quivers are in good working order and calibrated as required. • Conduct timely inspections during the fabrication and construction of structures. • Assess the qualifications of welding personnel and the materials used in the process. • Perform visual, dimensional, and non-destructive examinations (NDE). • Monitor welding process parameters for adherence to approved procedures and project specifications. • Conduct in-process (before/during/after) and final visual inspections. • Prepare and review inspection reports (fit-up and final visual). • Evaluate contractor performance, ensuring personnel are qualified and competent, with valid certifications for the welding techniques employed. • Review test reports, including Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) charts/records, for compliance with requirements. • Prepare and review daily welding and NDE reports. Painting/Coating: • Ensure weather conditions comply with relevant standards and specifications, considering environmental, timing, and economic factors. • Adhere to manufacturer’s instructions and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) when handling and storing painting/coating materials and abrasives on site. • Ensure availability of data sheets, maintain material traceability, and use the correct materials. • Monitor contractor performance to ensure applicators are skilled and possess valid certifications for the processes used, and that equipment is in good working condition. • Verify that inspection and test equipment is functional, calibrated, and that personnel are proficient in its use. • Cover the weld area before blasting if pressure testing is incomplete. • Protect flange serrations, instruments, and other components before blasting. • Ensure surface preparation, blast profile, and cleanliness meet specified requirements. • Continuously monitor and document surface cleanliness and profile. • Track wet film thickness during application and adherence to application techniques. • Measure dry film thickness and recoating intervals. • Replace any identification marks or tags that have been removed or overcoated. • After curing, conduct visual inspections and any required non-destructive or destructive tests. • Inspect for damages and defects upon completing each stage of painting/coating work. Job Specification • Education Qualification Diploma and above. • 3 Years of relevant working experience. • Shall possess NACE or IMM Level II Coating Inspector certification. • Having CSWP 3.1/AWS certified Welding Inspector and ISO 9712 NDE Level II Certification is an advantage. • Experience as a QC Inspector in painting/coating/welding. • Experience in oil and gas platform or wind energy platform fabrication inspection activities. • Multi-discipline inspector preferred (coating and welding inspection).
