Job Summary: The Junior Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and oversight of construction projects such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and other infrastructure projects. They will assist senior engineers and project managers in ensuring that construction work is completed safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to quality standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Project Support: Assist in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects. Prepare and review technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans. Contribute to project documentation, including reports, proposals, and technical specifications. Site Supervision: Assist in the supervision of construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations. Conduct site inspections and provide reports on progress, issues, and any deviations from the plans. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution. Data Collection & Analysis: Perform field surveys and data collection, including soil testing, site measurements, and material analysis. Analyze data and provide inputs to design modifications, cost estimates, and construction methods. Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all work complies with relevant building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards. Assist in maintaining project documentation related to permits, inspections, and safety regulations. Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Support the preparation of project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules. Assist in monitoring project costs and resources to ensure that budgets are adhered to. Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including senior engineers, architects, contractors, and clients. Collaborate with the design and construction teams to resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during project execution. Quality Control: Ensure that construction materials and workmanship meet quality standards. Support the implementation of quality assurance and control procedures throughout the project lifecycle. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of changes. Contribute to the preparation of as-built drawings and project closeout documents. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Experience: 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering or construction-related fields (internships or practical training may be considered). Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent). Familiarity with structural analysis software and project management tools. Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and industry standards. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work under supervision. Work Conditions: Combination of office work and fieldwork. May require occasional travel to project sites. Exposure to construction environments, including outdoor weather conditions.
