GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION Responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of the effluent treatment plant. This role involves ensuring that wastewater treatment processes are conducted efficiently and in compliance with environmental regulations. The supervisor will lead a team of operators and technicians, monitor plant performance, and implement improvements to optimize treatment processes. RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Supervise and provide leadership to ETP personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. 2. Coordinate and assign work tasks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures for optimize and efficient operations with minimal waste produced. 3. Oversee the treatment of wastewater, including physical, chemical, and biological processes. 4. Monitor and adjust treatment processes based on plant performance data and regulatory requirements. 5. Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of sludge and other by-products. 6. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of plant equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, and control systems. 7. Identify and troubleshoot operational issues or equipment malfunctions, implementing corrective actions as needed. 8. To be proactive and report potential problem to superior and management. 9. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project, service maintenance or repairs objectives are met. 10. Ensure that all treatment processes and operations comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards. 11. Authorized to drive forklift and responsible to keep the forklift in good condition. 12. To maintain all laboratory equipment such as cleanness, calibration and any other task assigned. 13. Prepare and submit required regulatory (Environmental Quality Act 1974 (Industrial Effluent) Regulation 2009) reports, including discharge monitoring reports and compliance documentation. 14. Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and laboratory analyses. 15. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all plant personnel. 16. Conduct training and development programs for staff on plant operations, safety practices, and regulatory compliance. 17. Respond to and manage emergency situations, such as spills or system failures, in accordance with established protocols. 18. Analyze plant performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement process optimization strategies. 19. Develop and recommend operational and procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. 20. Stay current with advancements in wastewater treatment technology and practices. 21. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with utility operations, including lifting, and carrying equipment. 22. Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces. 23. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management and be available “on-call” for emergencies.
