Duties and Responsibilities 1. Have up to date knowledge of all hotel services and functions at all times. 2. Develop knowledge of hotel structure, fixtures, fittings and plant. 3. Understand the Hotel’s fire and safety procedures. To undergo training in all fire and security measures every quarter. 4. Interact with Maintenance Staff, and communicate effectively with peers and superiors. 5. Have good knowledge of hotel staff rules and regulations as stipulated in the Employees’ Handbook. 6. Repair and maintain all minor fixture and fittings. 7. As the head of the department you are required to advice the Excom in cost saving of the energy, safety aspect of the hotel. 8. Carry out a Preventative Maintenance Programme on all pieces of mechanical equipment and rooms. 9. Repair and maintain all mechanical equipment including kitchen and laundry equipment. 10. General repair and maintenance works, including oiling/greasing. 11. Repair and maintain other items of the hotel properties. 12. Report all difficulties/shortcomings requests to General Manager as appropriate. 13. Keep your team in highly motivated level. In the event of discipline you can seek advice from DHR. 14. Repair and maintain all electrical parts of machinery – e.g. kitchen and laundry equipment etc. 15. Provide necessary back up to Banquet Department, fixing and co-ordinating temporary installations of all types including sound systems, lighting, general maintenance/maintenance support. 16. All work to be carried out thoroughly, professionally and safely. 17. Adhere to high standards of personal hygiene and dress according to the company dress code, as some guest contact will occur. 18. The management has the right to change or amend the JD as and when it is required without giving any reason. Job Requirement 1. Candidates must possess at least an SPM, Diploma or higher. 2. BO chargeman qualification 3. Able to communicate effectively in English & Bahasa Malaysia 4. At least 5 years hands-on working experience in related field and on Management position. Knowledge in HVAC-R / Electrical / Plumbing 5. Able to Manage, Plan and Carry out Preventive Maintenance of property and equipment 6. Able to work independently with minimum supervision, odd working hours and be on-site on short notice
