Job Summary: A retail pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescription medications to customers, offering expertise in the safe use of prescriptions, and providing clinical services to enhance patient care. This role involves managing pharmacy operations, maintaining inventory, business development, budget management skills, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Medication Dispensing: • Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients. • Review prescriptions for accuracy and legality. • Counsel patients on the proper use of medications, including dosage, side effects, and storage. 2. Budget Management: • Prepare budget planning for pharmacy. • Monitoring budget allocation and utilization. • Generate data and update into report for budget allocation and utilization. • Budget adjustment based on planning. 3. Patient Care: • Provide advice on over-the-counter medications and health products. • Conduct health and wellness screenings. • Administer immunizations as per state regulations. • Identify the resources (personnel, equipment, materials) needed to complete the project. • Identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigation strategies. 4. Project Development: • Identify a need or opportunity and generate a project idea. • Conduct a feasibility study to determine the project's viability, including technical, financial, and operational aspects. • Develop a project charter that outlines the project's objectives, scope, stakeholders, and high-level requirements. 5. Pharmacy Operations: • Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation. • Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking medications. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements. 6. Customer Service: • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to prescriptions and medications. • Foster positive relationships with patients and healthcare providers. • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient satisfaction. 7. Team Collaboration: • Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and support staff. • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. • Participate in continuous education and professional development activities. 8. Stakeholder Management: • Categorize stakeholders based on their influence, interest, and impact on the project. • Understand and document the needs, expectations, and concerns of each stakeholder. • Create tailored strategies to engage stakeholders based on their influence, interest, and communication preferences. • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders through regular, transparent, and honest communication. Job Requirements for a Retail Pharmacist: 1. Education: • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school. 2. Licensure: • Active pharmacist license in the state of employment. • Immunization certification (if required by state regulations). 3. Experience: • Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred. • Experience with pharmacy management software and systems. 4.
