Duties and Responsibilities: Set-Up Procedures for New Project Testing (Follow Engineering S.O.P.) Follow the production Planner’s schedule to arrange the set-up process. Obtain relevant information from the Production Coordinator for mold changes. Organize machine workflow, including preheating materials in advance. Ensure that Set-Up Technicians perform key checks before start-up, including: Water channel and water usage verification. Ensuring the core function and mold safety are secured. Verify the robotic program and ejector limit switch are operational. Follow the master parameter for starting the machine, and if out of parameter, immediately inform the Process Manager. Any changes to the parameter must be approved by the Process Manager. Ensure that the current Manufacturing Order (MO) is completed before moving to the next scheduled mold change. Submit the First Piece Form and sample for cosmetic verification. After verification, acknowledge the first piece part and include the parameter and water checklist. QC will perform a full measurement based on customer specifications and provide approval within the agreed timeframe (coordinate with QC Dept). Once the measurement is approved, QC and Production will sign off on the first piece. Ensure the first piece part is handed back to the Manufacturing and Process Engineerfor continued process activities. Ensure that the Set-Up Technician cleans the mold every day, with cleaning completed before 11:00 am. New Project Key Points (Information Sharing with Engineering) Obtain customer parameters, process water flow, and core function details from the Engineering Department. Ensure that all new transfer molds are tested in the tooling department before trials begin in production. Confirm that the water flow pressure in the mold is at 0.5 flow rate; if otherwise, highlight the issue to Engineering. Ensure that customer cycle time is achieved during trials; if not, notify Engineering. When facing quality issues during trials, provide defect samples to both Engineering and Quality Control for corrective actions in mass production. Job Scope Arrangement for Set-Up Technicians Monitor Set-Up Technicians to ensure they follow the production schedule. Arrange for Set-Up Technicians to assist the Production Technician when there is no schedule for loading/unloading processes. Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of a Diploma in Engineering or a related technical field. At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of molding processes, machine setups, and production coordination. Strong understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.) in engineering and production. Ability to lead and manage a team of Set-Up Technicians.
