Reports To: [Chief Executive Officer] Job Summary: The Head of Department, Business Strategy & Planning for Market Research, is responsible for leading and managing the strategic planning and market research initiatives of the company. This role involves developing and implementing business strategies, analyzing market trends, and providing insights to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in market research, strategic planning, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning: • Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives. • Identify and analyze market opportunities, trends, and threats to inform strategic decision-making. • Collaborate with senior management to define the company’s strategic direction and priorities. 2. Market Research: • Oversee the design, implementation, and analysis of market research studies to gather valuable insights. • Utilize various research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative techniques, to inform business strategies. • Interpret complex data and market trends to provide actionable recommendations. 3. Team Leadership: • Lead, mentor, and manage the business strategy and market research team. • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth and development. • Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to team members. 4. Stakeholder Collaboration: • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and finance, to ensure alignment of business strategies. • Present research findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders. • Develop strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry experts. 5. Budget Management: • Develop and manage the budget for the business strategy and market research department. • Ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize the impact of strategic initiatives. • Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where appropriate. 6. Reporting and Analysis: • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate market research findings and strategic insights. • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives. • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging market opportunities. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; • Minimum of 2 years of experience in market research, business strategy, or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic planning. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade senior management and stakeholders. • Proficiency in market research tools, data analysis software, and strategic planning frameworks. • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Experience in food/supplement industry is a plus.
