Junior Infrastructure Engineer

Key Responsibilities: - System Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of infrastructure systems including servers, networks, and data centers. - Troubleshooting: Provide support in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to user requests and resolve incidents in a timely manner. - Network Support: Help maintain LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity, including the configuration and setup of network switches, routers, and firewalls. - Security Monitoring: Assist in ensuring the security of the network and systems, including monitoring for security breaches, patch management, and firewall rule updates. - Cloud Infrastructure: Assist with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, TM One) configuration and management. Support deployment of virtual machines, storage, and services in the cloud environment. - Backup and Disaster Recovery: Help manage and maintain backup solutions, ensuring data is regularly backed up and available for recovery when necessary. - Documentation: Document infrastructure configurations, troubleshooting steps, and support processes. - Collaboration: Work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on larger infrastructure projects such as network upgrades, server deployments, and cloud migrations. - Learning and Development: Continuously enhance your knowledge of new technologies and methodologies relevant to the role. Required Skills and Qualifications: - At least Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Basic knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.). - Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). - Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues. - Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively. - Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals. - Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, etc.). - Previous internship or work experience in IT support or infrastructure roles. Soft Skills: - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. - A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow. Working Conditions: - May involve on-call rotations or support during off-hours. - Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to data centers or field locations as required.
