Job overview: We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Production Quality Engineer to oversee and enhance our EMS PCBA processes. The role involves ensuring high standards across SMT, DIP, assembly testing, and packing operations. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in electronics components, PCB materials, plastics, and mechanical parts. Proficiency in ESD production practices, MSD management, and materials traceability is crucial. Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and soldering techniques is required. Key responsibilities: • Conduct and oversee PCBA Contract Manufacturing (CM) First Article Inspection (FAI), Incoming Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Final Quality Control (FQC) process audits. • Collaborate with PCBA CMs and Quality Assurance Associates (QAA) to ensure adherence to quality standards. • Provide technical support to buyers on PCBA and materials quality, including material specification confirmation. • Prepare quality event reports and oversee corrective action requests (CAR), failure analysis (FA), and 8D problem-solving techniques. • Implement and optimize purge/block processes to maintain product integrity and quality standards. • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quality and process efficiency. • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for risk management and mitigation. • Foster collaboration and ensure effective communication across departments and with external stakeholders. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related. • Proven (or more than 3 years) experience in EMS PCBA processes, with expertise in SMT, DIP, assembly testing, and packing. • Strong knowledge of electronics components, PCB materials, plastics materials, and mechanical parts. • Expertise in ESD production practices, MSD management, and materials traceability. • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and soldering qualifications. • Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies, including SPC. • Experience in conducting audits and ensuring compliance with quality standards. • Capability in performing FAI, IPQC, and FQC processes within PCBA manufacturing. • Effective problem-solving skills, including CAR, FA and 8D methodologies. • Ability to track and analyze KPIs to drive continuous improvement. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration across teams.
