Job Responsibilities
- Assist in engaging with a network of suppliers to ensure a consistent and quality supply of raw materials, coordinating closely with suppliers to support production operations.
- Support the procurement cycle by managing day-to-day purchasing activities, aligning orders with production needs and monitoring cost efficiency.
- Work closely with suppliers to nurture relationships, helping to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery schedules.
- Contribute to defining and implementing the procurement strategy, continuously seeking ways to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency within the procurement process.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within procurement processes, assisting in the execution of initiatives that enhance operational performance and efficiency.
- Monitor logistics arrangements, including transportation and storage, ensuring they are handled efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Assist in conducting regular supplier performance evaluations, using key metrics such as delivery reliability, pricing, quality, and adherence to ISO standards.
- Implement corrective actions and collaborate on alternative sourcing solutions if supplier performance does not meet standards.
- Conduct site visits to suppliers for audits and evaluations, assessing their operations, quality control measures and compliance with Company standards.
- Support inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels that meet production needs without excess costs, closely monitoring reorder points and stock levels.
- Aid in organizing and overseeing store operations, ensuring dependable inventory levels, organized storage and proactive stock management to prevent shortages.
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Specific experience in raw material sourcing, inventory management and vendor negotiation within manufacturing or industrial settings is preferred.
- Expertise in end-to-end supply chain processes, including vendor selection, logistics, and inventory optimization.
- Ability to identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies effectively
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers and for reporting to senior management.
